The EU Commission has issued an informative note, with respect to persons holding a short-stay visa that expired on or after April 15, 2010. The passport of these persons should be stamped upon exit without considering these persons as having stayed beyond the period of allowed stay.

Extension of Schengen visas due to airport closures
If your Schengen visas is expiring and you cannot leave Iceland because of aiport closures, you can get your visa extended at the Directorate?s office at Skógarhlíð 6, Reykjavík. You need to bring your passport and one passport size photo.
