Residence permits for families of an Icelandic citizen

Eligible relatives are:

• Spouses, common-law spouses and registered partners;
• Dependant descendants of icelandic citizen or his spouse, under the age of 18;
• Dependant parents or grandparents of the icelandic citizen or his spouse, over the age of 66.

 

Spouses, common-law spouses, registered partners and children under the age of 18 may be in Iceland when applying for a family reunification residence permit.

 

This type of residence permit counts towards a permanent residence permit.
