Changes in processing time for residence permit applications of EEA nationals.
The number of applications for residence permits for citizens of the EEA member countries has increased significantly. Therefore, the processing time for applications for citizens of the EEA has now increased to 60 days from 30 days previously.
Processing time for residence permits for citizens of the EEA member countries has now changed from 30 days up to 60 days after all required documents have been submitted. This change is necessary because of the significant increase in the number of applications in the past year. One of the main reasons for this development is that the adjustment period restrictions for citizens of the latest EEA member countries; Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Czech Republic and Hungary ended in May 2006. From the year 2005 to 2006 the relative increase of applications was 451%, which is significant.
