Miscellaneous Information
Payments for applications for residence permits.
The Directorate started charging fees for processing applications for residence permits on June 26th 2006. The Directorate is pleased with how well this new regulation has generally worked. Many customers pay the processing fee by direct deposit payments. In some instances, payors have unfortunately forgot to indicate which application the payment should be applied to, sometimes employers who are paying for many employees in the same payment. If you are making a direct deposit payment, please make sure at the time of payment that it is noted which individual the payment is being made for and send a printout of the payment with the application. It is important that the applicant’;s full name and date of birth appear on the payment slip. If this information is not available it delays the processing of the application.
Applications received by the Directorate that are not paid for are not processed until a payment has been made and the processing time is measured from the date the payment is made.
