Adaption provisions no longer apply.
Adaption provisions that were put into force on may 1st 2004 regarding wage earners from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, the Czech Republic and Hungary no longer apply. Rules for EEA nationals are now fully applicable for wage earners from the above mentioned countries. A wage earner that intends to work in Iceland for three months or longer has to apply for a residence permit, for instructions see here.
Employers that hire a wage earner from the above mentioned countries is obligated to notify the Directorate of Labour of the hiring within ten working days. See here.
